Charmlore is honoured to back at HUMBUG Club on June 07th with an international lineup showcasing brilliant lyricists and composers Kalione, Embaci, mirrorange, R8, as well as hybrid DJ-Duo Sunset Ultras. This event has been made possible with the kind support of GGG Stadt Basel.



Embaci

is a cross-disciplinary artist, performer, and composer working primarily with sound, video, print, and code. She is recognized for her celestial voice and lyricism. Since her debut in 2016 with the music collective NON-Worldwide, she has established herself as an international artist who can hold her own as a multidisciplinary virtuoso. Her background in music consists of training as a contralto opera singer and jazz musician. Her work extends into fluid genres and collaborative processes.
She holds a BFA in Fine Art (New Media, Purchase College) and has performed or exhibited at The Institute of Contemporary Art(London, UK), Yale Union (Portland, OR), Abrons Arts Center (New York, NY), MoMA PS1 (New sYork, NY), HAU Hebbel am Ufer (Berlin, DE), Issue Project Room (New York, NY), The Bourse de commerce - Pinault Collection(Paris, FR), Zürcher Theater Spektakel (Zürich, CH).






Kalione

is the moniker of Russian born producer, songwriter and DJ Natalie Iakushkina. The music that Kalione creates as a producer and DJ is always about something emotional, sublime and striving to the Creator. She works with ethereal waves sound, but you can also feel vibrations of guitar drone and breakbeat in her tracks. The artist’s works take us through the frozen grounds of Northern forests and lead to light and angelic motifs that transcend lightness or darkness.
Her mixes were played on the airwaves of Bristol 1020.Radio, French LYL and Ola Radio, Retreat Radio in Sweden and many others. As a DJ, Kalione turns to the multi-genre selection, which consists of a breakbeat, ambient, pop music mashups, trap and a guitar drone.






R8

is an emerging vocalist and composer from Geneva, Switzerland, that has launched their Debut Album in April 2024. Their music explores new realms between deconstructed club and avant-pop, marked by melodic vocals. On this iteration of Charmlore, R8 will be performing their Live Debut.






Mirrorange

is a Zurich based composer and producer who translates interpersonal expiriences into an ambivalent web of sceneries. These hinted realities being transported by field recordings, electric bass and a swirl of synthesizers and percussive elements, form a more and more solid vision of interaction throughout the set.
Asides of his own musical practice, mirrorange is co-founder and host oft the label Dream Channel; a hybrid project focussing on both publishing emergent experimental musicians as well as curating listening sessions and live concert in local clubs and venues.






Sunset Ultras

is a Duo musically rooted in hardcore techno and trance. They have recently evolved towards mixing experimental deconstructed club and ambient music in hybrid DJ sets.
